The Fondation in Basel was founded in October 1997 in the museum building and constructed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano. During the time of the gallery owners, the married art collectors Hildy and Ernst Beyelers carefully selected certain works of the Classic modern art, which were first transferred into a foundation in 1989.Today they are on display in the museum. Next to 25 selected objects from Alaska, Oceania and Afrika, you can also admire some of Picasso’s, Rosseau’s and Cézanne’s famous works.Immerse yourself in the different worlds of art and be inspired by the Classic modern art.
